⛸️ Discovery 3 Suspension Fault Reset
This simple test is a good way to check for problems between service trips. Here’s how it works: Walk to one corner of your Range Rover. Push down hard on the bumper. Watch as it rises back into place. Repeat for each wheel. When the suspension is healthy, the corner will pop back into place and settle quickly.
Colin. Most likely to be a wiring fault, there is a multiplug behind the front lefthand wheelarch liner that gets corroded. Later models have a modified loom to cure the problem. You need to drop the front left wheelarch liner, and pull the plugs and check for corrosion on the pins. Other possibility is a wheel speed sensor at fault.
The diagnostic computer reported a faulty suspension height sensor (there's one sensor on each wheel on the D3). Looking under the vehicle revealed damage to
Easier to pull fuse 28 in the BJB next to the battery. Mine also had a fault code on the car and only responded once that fault code had been cleared as well. Here is andychelt´s pic of the FBH. The connectors from the left are: 1. FBH coolant pump 2. Canbus/W-Bus from timer (if fitted)/FBH fuel pump 3.
Naturally I replaced this sensor with a tested 2nd hand one. and Suspension continues to fault. SO assuming id been sold a dodgy sensor, i replaced it with a new one. Still same issue. Suspension fault, Initially the HDC light in dash was red, and the illumination under the console switches was non existent.
Battery and Alternator were ok. Pulled the fuses and reset the auto transmission ecu and the air suspension ecu. Found as suggested I had no brake lights. After reset found the vehicle checks were coming up ok and only when the brake pedal was pressed was the fault coming up again.
- C1a13 appears to be a fault of 'venting too slowly'(?) however when its working it will drop fast with the switch. I scan with iCarsoft but hopefully can trust the code. - I tried disconnected the pipe which flows towards the rear suspension air muffler, this hasn't appeared to change the fault throwing up. Appears to vent well.
If the car's at normal height and the warning doesn't go away, pull the fuses for the EAS (there's 3 of them) to freeze the car at that height (it'll complain about it, but won't adjust the suspension). Otherwise, if an EAS fault is logged for any significant time , you run the risk of the car escalating the problem and dropping to access height.

I have 2015 RRS HSE 3.0 TDV6, and sometimes it light up "Suspension fault" just after startup, usually when I shut down the engine and then restart its ok. Suspension lowering overnight. Hello, I have an LR3 2005. Replaced air compressor, two front air springs shock struts, and suspension valve. However, I see the suspension drops overnight about 1 inch in the front and 1/2 inch in the back. When I start the engine in the morning the vehicle lifts up the front every time.
